During that time she started Orizaba Records and produced a
jazz Christmas album called, "The First Christmas". In
addition to writing, arranging, producing and performing on
vocals, guitar and bass she also promoted the CD to radio
and got airplay on many jazz and Christian stations across the
nation. She also played on and co-produced jazz projects
with John Anello for Cexton records.
Next stop was Nashville where she toured and played dates
with various Christian artists including Kathy Troccoli
seen with Valerie below, left.
In the summer of 1997 she toured Europe with Karen Lafferty
and Musicians for Missions. The team performed in concert
settings and at international worship conferences in
Germany, Hungary, The Czech Republic and Romania.
She has played on worship teams for large conferences with
Maranatha Music and Foursquare international and played
bass on live worship albums recorded for Foursquare
International and Vineyard Music.
Her most recently recorded work was a cut on the August,
2006 release by Salvador, “Dismiss the Mystery” . She co-
wrote the song, “Te Enaltezco Dios” with long time friend,
Rick Cua and Nick Gonzales of Salvador.
Valerie lives in Nashville and spends much of her time
teaching. She continues to write, perform and even play just
for the love of it . . .

She began playing in Boston as a solo artist on guitar and
vocals. She was also lead vocalist, guitarist and band leader
for a pop jazz group. For two years post college she played
the local club scene before selling everything non-essential,
saying goodbye to everyone she loved and moving to LA.
In LA she began playing bass and worked with many different
artists, bands, and acts. She played concert venues, jazz
festivals, theme parks, casino show rooms, colleges and
military bases up and down the California coast and in Nevada.
In addition to playing live gigs, she also played bass on many
CD projects (some audio clips below).
Music styles included big band jazz, gospel, pop vocal, oldies
rock, samba and Latin jazz, as well as show music. She has
played in groups in every configuration from duos and trios
to full orchestras.
